Daleville will once again come together in remembrance of those who lost their lives during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks as local organizations prepare to host the 25th Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony. The ceremony is extra special this year as it marks the 25th anniversary of the attacks that changed our nation forever.
The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, 2026, outside the Southeast Community Training Center at 195 U.S. Highway 84 West in Daleville. The approximately 30-minute ceremony will honor and remember the victims of the attacks and those whose lives were forever changed by the events of that day.
As part of the annual remembrance, community members are invited to help place nearly 3,000 American flags on the grounds of the Southeast Community Training Center beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10.
The flags will serve as a visual tribute to those who died in the attacks and as a reminder of the unity and patriotism that followed the tragedy.
Multiple organizations have been working for months to prepare for this year’s ceremony, which marks the 25th anniversary of the Patriot Day observance.
Organizers are encouraging members of the community to take part in both portions of the event. Volunteers are welcome to assist with placing the flags Thursday afternoon, while the public is invited to attend the remembrance ceremony Friday morning.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 9 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11.
All community members are welcome to participate in the flag placement at 4 p.m. Thursday and attend the 25th Patriot Day Remembrance Ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday.
