Adrienne Reid, who is charged with capital murder and abuse of a corpse in connection with the death of her 3-year-old daughter, Genesis Reid, has been transferred from the Coffee County Jail to another correctional facility as she awaits trial.
The transfer was confirmed by Coffee County Sheriff Scott Byrd, though no reason for the move has been publicly disclosed.
Reid was arrested following an extensive investigation that began in February after she reported her daughter missing. Authorities later determined the report was false and alleged Reid killed the child in December and disposed of her remains in a dumpster. Investigators continue efforts to locate Genesis Reid’s remains at a landfill site, a process officials say could take several weeks.
