Alabama residents pursuing careers in the state’s automotive manufacturing industry may be eligible for a share of $400,000 in scholarships being offered through a partnership between the Alabama Community College System (ACCS) and the Alabama Automotive Manufacturers Association (AAMA).
Applications are now open for the scholarships, which are available to students enrolled in eligible programs at Alabama community colleges. Individual awards are capped at $4,000 and can be used to cover tuition, books, and fees for the 2027 spring, summer, or fall semesters.
The scholarship program is designed to support students pursuing education and training for careers in Alabama’s automotive manufacturing workforce.
Eligible programs include mechatronics, advanced manufacturing technology, automated manufacturing technology, industrial electronics technology, industrial maintenance technology, manufacturing technology, machining, machine tool and CNC, automotive service technology, robotic welding technology, and engineering technology.
To qualify, applicants must be Alabama residents with a minimum 2.5 grade-point average and must be enrolled in one of the eligible programs at an Alabama community college.
Dually enrolled high school students are not eligible for the scholarships.
Applications are available online through Dream It, Do It Alabama. The deadline to apply is Friday, Oct. 30, 2026.
The scholarship opportunity comes as Alabama continues to develop its workforce for automotive manufacturing and related industries, providing community college students with financial assistance as they pursue technical training and industry-specific credentials.
