As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, communities across the Wiregrass are planning patriotic festivities featuring live entertainment, family activities, food vendors, historical exhibits, parades, and fireworks displays.
From Ozark to Fort Rucker, Daleville, Level Plains, Headland, Midland City, Dothan, and beyond, residents will have multiple opportunities to celebrate the nation’s birthday and honor 250 years of American history.
OZARK
Community-Led Fireworks Celebration Planned for July 31
The Ozark Community Fireworks Celebration will bring residents together for an evening of family fun on Friday, July 31, at Matthews Stadium on the campus of Carroll High School.
The free community event will feature food, games, family activities, and a fireworks display, with organizers emphasizing that the celebration is being held to bring the Ozark community together for a memorable summer evening.
Unlike many municipal celebrations, the Ozark Community Fireworks Celebration is entirely community-led and funded through local donations, sponsorships, and volunteers. Organizers said the event is not sponsored by the City of Ozark or Carroll High School, despite being held at Matthews Stadium.
Additional information regarding vendors, activities, entertainment, and event details will be announced in the coming weeks as planning continues.

DALEVILLE
The City of Daleville will host the Daleville Freedom Bash on Saturday, July 4, at Culpepper Park.
Festivities begin at noon and will feature free live music, food vendors, children’s activities, historical presentations, and family entertainment throughout the day.
The event is part of Alabama’s official America 250 observance and is designed to bring residents together for a day of patriotism and community fellowship.
The celebration will conclude with a fireworks show at 8 p.m.
Sponsored by America 250 Alabama and numerous local businesses, the event is expected to be one of the largest Independence Day gatherings in Dale County.

ARITON
Celebrate America’s 250th Birthday in Ariton!
Mark your calendars for Saturday, July 25, and head to Main Street in Ariton for an evening of patriotic fun beginning at 4 p.m.
Enjoy live music by local community members, children’s activities, vendor booths, food trucks, a special time capsule presentation, and a fireworks show at sundown.

LEVEL PLAINS
Fireworks in the Park Returns July 4
The Level Plains Police Department and Level Plains Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual Fireworks in the Park celebration at Level Plains Community Park.
Event activities begin at 4 p.m. and include food vendors, merchandise vendors, live music, inflatables, games, a dunk booth, static displays, and family-friendly entertainment.
Organizers encourage visitors to bring lawn chairs and blankets and arrive early due to anticipated crowds.
The fireworks display is expected to begin shortly after dark, around 8 p.m.
Some items are prohibited, such as guns, alcohol, skateboards, scooters, and more. Check with the Level Plains Police Department for more information.

MIDLAND CITY
Midland City will host its First Annual Stars, Stripes, & Sparks over Midland City event on July 3 at the Midland City Ball Fields.
The event begins at 5 p.m. and will include fireworks, fun activities, inflatables, and a variety of vendors.

CLAYHATCHEE
Clayhatchee will join communities across the Wiregrass in celebrating America’s 250th anniversary with a day of family-friendly activities, food, entertainment, and fireworks at Clayhatchee Park.
The town’s celebration will include a free barbecue lunch honoring veterans and senior citizens, the First Annual Cornbread Festival, live entertainment, inflatables, vendors, and a fireworks finale.
HEADLAND
Headland Continues Tractor Parade Tradition
The City of Headland will once again host its popular Tractor and Agricultural Parade and Firework Show on July 4.
Activities begin with Fun on the Square at 4 p.m., followed by the Ag Parade at 5 p.m., with fireworks at Douglas Park at 9 p.m.

DOTHAN
Dothan Plans Major America 250 Downtown Celebration
The City of Dothan will host its America 250 Downtown Celebration from 2 p.m. until approximately 9:30 p.m., featuring live music, more than 30 vendors, a Kids Fun Zone, Landmark Park exhibits, a Presidential Exhibit Hall, Touch-A-Truck displays, classic cars, crafts, face painting, and numerous family activities.

Location: Downtown Dothan
Time: 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
REHOBETH
The Town of Rehobeth will host its 7th Annual Red, White & Boom Celebration from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Rehobeth High School Stadium.
The festival will feature live music on two stages, more than 40 vendors, children’s activities, helicopter rides, food vendors, and a fireworks display.
GENEVA
Geneva’s America 250 Independence Day Celebration begins at 4 p.m. on July 4 at Robert Fowler Park (The Junction).
Visitors can enjoy food, games, entertainment, music, and fireworks shortly after sunset.
FORT RUCKER
Fort Rucker Family & MWR hosted its annual Freedom Fest 2026 on Friday, June 26, at Festival Fields on Fort Rucker. The event was well-received and attended by residents from across the Southeast.
Hosted by Maj. Gen. Clair A. Gill, the annual event drew tens of thousands of military families and civilians from across the Wiregrass.
