As America prepares to celebrate its 250th anniversary, communities across the Wiregrass are planning patriotic festivities featuring live entertainment, family activities, food vendors, historical exhibits, parades, and fireworks displays.
From Fort Rucker to Daleville, Level Plains, Headland, Midland City, and Dothan, residents will have multiple opportunities to celebrate the nation’s birthday and honor 250 years of American history.
FORT RUCKER
Fort Rucker Family & MWR will host Freedom Fest 2026 on Friday, June 26, at Festival Fields on Fort Rucker.
Hosted by Maj. Gen. Clair A. Gill, the annual event is expected to draw thousands of military families and civilians from across the Wiregrass.
The celebration will run from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m. and feature bounce houses, obstacle courses, military static displays, craft vendors, free ice cream, food vendors, food trucks, and live entertainment throughout the evening.
The festivities will conclude with what organizers describe as one of the largest fireworks displays in the Wiregrass, beginning at 9:15 p.m.

Daleville Freedom Bash Celebrates America’s 250th Anniversary
DALEVILLE
The City of Daleville will host the Daleville Freedom Bash on Saturday, July 4, at Culpepper Park.
Festivities begin at noon and will feature free live music, food vendors, children’s activities, historical presentations, and family entertainment throughout the day.
The event is part of Alabama’s official America 250 observance and is designed to bring residents together for a day of patriotism and community fellowship.
The celebration will conclude with a fireworks show at 8 p.m.
Sponsored by America 250 Alabama and numerous local businesses, the event is expected to be one of Dale County’s largest Independence Day gatherings.

LEVEL PLAINS
Fireworks in the Park Returns July 4
The Level Plains Police Department and Level Plains Volunteer Fire Department will host their annual Fireworks in the Park celebration at Level Plains Community Park.
Event activities begin at 4 p.m. and include food vendors, merchandise vendors, live music, inflatables, games, a dunk booth, static displays, and family-friendly entertainment.
Organizers encourage visitors to bring lawn chairs and blankets and arrive early due to anticipated crowds.
The fireworks display is expected to begin shortly after dark, around 8 p.m.
Some items are prohibited, such as guns, alcohol, skateboards, scooters, and more. Check with the Level Plains Police Department for more information.

MIDLAND CITY
Midland City will host its First Annual Stars, Stripes, & Sparks over Midland City event on July 3 at the Midland City Ball Fields.
The event begins at 5pm and will include fireworks, fun activities, inflatables, and vendors of all sorts.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and blanket and prepare for a lot of fun. Anyone who has questions should contact Marcella Holmes at City Hall by calling (334) 983-3511.

HEADLAND
Headland Continues Tractor Parade Tradition
The City of Headland will once again host its popular Tractor and Agricultural Parade and Firework Show on July 4.
Activities begin with Fun on the Square at 4 p.m., followed by the annual Ag Parade at 5 p.m. The parade route travels from downtown Headland to Douglas Park.
Food trucks, family activities, and entertainment will continue throughout the evening before fireworks begin at Douglas Park at 9 p.m.
The event has become one of the Wiregrass’s most unique Independence Day traditions, celebrating the area’s agricultural heritage while honoring the nation’s birthday.

DOTHAN
Dothan Plans Major America 250 Downtown Celebration
The City of Dothan is planning a large-scale America 250 Downtown Celebration on July 4.
Activities are scheduled from 2 p.m. until approximately 9:30 p.m. in downtown Dothan and will feature live music, more than 30 vendors, a Kids Fun Zone, Landmark Park exhibits, a Presidential Exhibit Hall, Touch-A-Truck displays, classic cars, crafts, face painting, and additional family activities.
The event is intended to commemorate the nation’s 250th anniversary while highlighting local history and community involvement.

GENEVA
Geneva has planned America’s 250th Independence Day Celebration set for July 4.
The celebration will begin at 4pm at Robert Fowler Park (“The Junction”) with fireworks scheduled to start shortly after sunset.

More Celebrations Expected
Additional Independence Day celebrations are expected to be announced in Ozark, Enterprise, Newton, Ariton, Geneva, and other communities throughout the Wiregrass in the coming days.
