Andalusia Tops Carroll 41-0

The Carroll High School Eagles fell on the road Friday night to the Andalusia Bulldogs by a score of 41-0.

Andalusia struck first with 8:12 remaining in the opening quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run by Quay Begwood. The Bulldogs added to their lead later in the quarter when Begwood broke free for a 22-yard touchdown, putting Andalusia up 14-0 after the first period.

The Bulldogs continued to roll in the second quarter, adding another rushing touchdown to take a 21-0 lead into halftime.

Andalusia wasted little time in the second half. On the opening drive of the third quarter, Zerrick Jones raced 83 yards for a touchdown to make it 28-0. Jones later added a 36-yard scoring run with 10:24 left in the third quarter. The extra point was no good, extending the Bulldog lead to 34-0. Andalusia scored once more late in the third quarter on a 5-yard touchdown run to close out their scoring at 41-0.

Neither team scored in the fourth quarter as Andalusia improved their record to (7-2) with the convincing win and will take on Montgomery Catholic in Montgomery next week.

Carroll (1-8) will look to bounce back next week as they go on the road to Headland for their final regular season matchup.
