The Ariton Purple Cats grabbed a hard-fought victory over the Dale County Warriors on Monday night, winning 50-40. The Purple Cats’ victory was made possible using a balanced scoring effort and strong guard play.
Ariton’s offense found its rhythm early and leaned on a trio of consistent scorers throughout the night. Bryson Rhett led the Purple Cats with 15 points, while Addison Senn delivered one of the game’s standout performances, finishing with 14 points and 10 assists to fuel the Ariton attack. Titus Senn added 13 points of his own, giving the Purple Cats a reliable boost each time the Warriors threatened to close the gap.
Dale County was paced by an impressive effort from Junior Smith, who poured in a game-high 19 points. Teammate Jayden McGhee chipped in 12 points, helping keep the Warriors within reach for much of the contest. Junior Smith, who is skilled in multiple sports at DCHS, signed on last week to play college football with Jacksonville State University.
Despite the Warriors’ late push, Ariton maintained control down the stretch and sealed the victory with steady execution on both ends of the floor.
The win marks another strong showing for the Purple Cats as they continue building momentum early in the season, while the Warriors look to regroup and prepare for their next match-up. The Warriors will take on Wicksburg Thursday evening, while Ariton takes on Geneva on the road tonight.
