ARITON — The Ariton Purple Cats delivered a complete team performance Tuesday night, cruising to a 59–23 varsity boys basketball victory over Slocomb.
Ariton’s balanced scoring and unselfish ball movement set the tone early and never let up. Titus Senn led the Purple Cats with 15 points, while Cooper Murphy added 10. Conner Davidson finished with nine points, and Bryce Johnson contributed eight as Ariton spread the scoring across the lineup.
Slocomb was paced by Weston Sasser with seven points and Nick Gamez with six, but the Tigers struggled to find consistent offense against Ariton’s defensive pressure.
After the game, Ariton head coach Brett Goodwin credited the team’s chemistry and willingness to play for one another for the decisive win.
“Not one player played selfishly; everyone on the team shared the ball and cheered on their teammate throughout the whole game,” Goodwin said.
The dominant victory, which brings the team to a 10-2 win record, highlights Ariton’s depth and teamwork as the Purple Cats continue to build momentum moving forward. Ariton will take on Providence Christian in a rematch on Saturday, December 20, at 3:30 p.m. at Ariton High School. This time, the Purple Cats hope to use their strong momentum to defeat Providence after losing to them earlier in the season.
