OZARK—The LifeSouth Community Blood Centers Blood Mobile will be parked at Martindale Plaza in Ozark today until 4:00 p.m., offering local residents a convenient opportunity to donate. Also, all donors for the month of October will receive a free T-shirt, while supplies last.
LifeSouth notes that the donation process is simple and generally takes about an hour from arrival to completion. Donors will be asked to register, undergo a brief interview and mini-physical (including checks of blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and iron levels), then relax with snacks after their donation.
One key requirement: donors must bring a valid state-issued photo ID.
LifeSouth emphasizes that as a community blood center, the supply collected locally supports local hospitals directly.
Those interested in donating today should plan to arrive before 4:00 p.m. at Martindale Plaza and bring their photo ID. It’s a small commitment of time but a big contribution to the health needs of the community.
LifeSouth Assistant Manager Hope Grooms informs us that there is currently a major shortage of all blood types, and a donation today could save up to three lives.
“We are going to be at Martindale Plaza each Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, from 10am-4pm,” Grooms added. If you are interested in donating blood, just bring your valid state-issued ID to any LifeSouth Blood Mobile or facility.
