The Daleville High School Warhawks stayed within striking distance through the first half but were unable to keep pace down the stretch, falling 65–40 to Brantley in varsity boys basketball action.
Daleville trailed by just six points at halftime, heading into the break down 31–25 after a competitive opening half. However, Brantley used a strong second-half performance to create separation and secure the win.
Trey Peters led the Warhawks offensively with 11 points, adding three rebounds and two steals. Nigel Threatt followed with nine points while contributing across the stat sheet with two rebounds and two steals.
Looking ahead, Daleville Assistant Basketball Coach Jaren Jones emphasized the team’s focus moving forward.
“We just need to continue working on our toughness and continue to be able to fight back whenever we face adversity,” Jones said.
Despite the loss, Daleville showed a lot of fight early and will look to build on that first-half effort as the Warhawks prepare for their next matchup. The Warhawks will face Houston Academy in an away, non-region game tomorrow, December 18.
