OZARK—It has been a tragic and busy night for local law enforcement as multiple agencies are currently investigating two separate shooting incidents reported Monday evening at different locations within the city of Ozark, including one that has resulted in a death.
One investigation is focused on an incident that occurred near the intersection of Andrews Avenue and W. College Street, near Oben Everett Park, where officers established a secured perimeter around the crime scene.
The Dale County Coroner’s Office responded to the location after reports of a shooting victim.
A second crime scene was reported on Westview Drive near Magnolia Street. Officials have released limited information regarding that incident, though reports indicate a second victim was involved.
The Dale County Chronicle spoke briefly with Dale County Coroner John Cawley late Monday night regarding the investigations.
“I can confirm there has been one fatality we are investigating at this time. There were two shootings, but one fatality at this time,” Cawley said.
Authorities have not announced whether the two incidents are connected.
Multiple law enforcement officers remained at both locations Monday evening as investigators worked to process the scenes and gather evidence.
No additional information has been released regarding the identity of the deceased or the circumstances surrounding either shooting.
This remains a developing story. The Dale County Chronicle will provide updates as additional information becomes available.
