OZARK, Ala.— The Carroll High School Eagles picked up a 31-24 victory over the Rehobeth Rebels on Thursday night, giving the Eagles an early win in the 2026 football season.
The matchup, which is the first game of Head Coach Steve McLendon’s coaching career with the Eagles, came after a week of excitement and community support.
Carroll hosted a community pep rally on Tuesday, followed by a schoolwide pep rally on Thursday afternoon, as students and supporters prepared for the game.
The energy carried into Thursday night’s matchup, with Carroll emerging with a seven-point victory.
The win also provided a measure of redemption for the Eagles following last year’s meeting with Rehobeth. The Rebels defeated Carroll 25-20 in 2025 in a back-and-forth game that saw the lead change several times before Rehobeth scored late and Carroll’s final drive came up short.
This year, however, Carroll finished on the winning side of the scoreboard, defeating Rehobeth 31-24.
The Eagles will now turn their attention to the remainder of the 2026 season as they look to build on Thursday night’s victory. The Eagles travel to Hillcrest-Evergreen on Friday, August 28.
