OZARK — The Carroll High School Eagles delivered an incredible performance Friday, shutting out Emmanuel Christian 12-0 in a one-sided fight made possible by timely hitting and aggressive baserunning.
Carroll wasted little time getting on the scoreboard and never let up, while Emmanuel Christian was unable to generate any offensive momentum. The Eagles’ consistent pressure at the plate and on the basepaths proved to be the difference throughout the game.
Daniel Lopez led the charge offensively, turning in a standout performance by going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. His three RBIs marked a new career high, continuing a strong stretch at the plate this season.
Bentley Wood also made a significant impact, finishing 1-for-2 while driving in two runs, scoring twice, and swiping two bases. Joseph Del Rosario contributed to the effort as well, going 1-for-2 with an RBI, two runs scored, and two stolen bases.
As a team, Carroll kept runners on base throughout the game, finishing with an on-base percentage of .577. The Eagles have now posted an OBP of .560 or higher in three consecutive contests, highlighting a consistent offensive approach that has begun to produce results.
With the win, Carroll High School improves to 6-11-1 on the season. Emmanuel Christian, meanwhile, falls to 0-11 and is currently on a 24-game losing streak dating back to last year.
Carroll returns to action Saturday with a scheduled matchup against Beauregard, while Emmanuel Christian will look to regroup ahead of a Monday game against Graceville.
