OZARK, Alabama — The Carroll High School Eagles squeaked past the Slocomb Red Tops 9‑8 in a closely contested matchup on Tuesday, snapping a three-game home losing streak. While the victory wasn’t as dominant as the last time the two teams met, Carroll managed to pull out a hard-fought win, marking their narrowest home victory since February 17, 2025.
The Eagles’ success was a team effort, with five different players recording at least one hit. Junior Jason Chancey led the charge, reaching base in all four of his plate appearances while tallying three runs, one double, and one RBI. Notably, that double was Chancey’s first of the season.
Zekayden Vincent also had a strong outing, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Jeremy Brown added two runs to the scoreboard, rounding out the top contributors for Carroll.
With the win, the Eagles improved to 4‑4 on the season. Slocomb, meanwhile, fell to 1‑7, extending their losing streak to four games.
Carroll will look to carry momentum into their next matchup against New Brockton at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, while Slocomb will face Houston Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday on their home field.
