The Carroll High School girls’ basketball team powered to a dominant 71–9 victory over Barbour County on Tuesday night, marking one of their most spectacular performances of the season as they improved to 6–1.
Head coach Johnson praised the effort as a “great team win,” noting that every player on the roster saw the floor and contributed to the outcome.
The night was highlighted by a career-best performance from Makynzye Bonner, who earned 21 points. Zy Glanton continued her streak of double-digit scoring outings and provided consistent offense for the Lady Eagles. Freshmen Cece Snell and Zuri Steele also made their presence felt, forming a strong defensive tandem that brought energy and pressure throughout the game.
Coach Johnson said he is proud of the progress his team is making.
“I feel like I’m bringing the best out of my team as a whole, and I’m excited to see our hard work pay off,” he said.
Carroll will now shift its focus to a challenging road matchup at Opelika, where the Lady Eagles are set to face the Bulldogs this Friday at 5:30 p.m.
