OZARK —Calling all college students! Now is your chance to turn 250 years of America’s story into art.
The Dale County Council of the Arts and Humanities is inviting all college students across the Wiregrass to take part in a new art exhibition honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States.
The “Celebrating 250 Years as a Nation through Art” exhibition is the first in a planned series of events marking the United States Semiquincentennial. Organized by the Dale County Council of the Arts and Humanities (DCCAH), planners say the series is designed to highlight artistic interpretations of the nation’s history, culture, and identity.
According to the DCCAH, the exhibition allows student artists to showcase various works that reflect “a point, person, event, or perspective of life in the U.S.” Participation is open to all Wiregrass-area college students, and each artist may submit up to three pieces at no cost.
Artwork submissions will be accepted May 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ann Rudd Art Center, located at 144 E College Street, Ozark, AL. Do not delay. Let your artistic talent shine at the Rudd Art Center.
The exhibit will open to the public with a reception scheduled for May 3 from 3-5 p.m. Community members are encouraged to attend and view the collection of student artwork.
The exhibition will remain on display through June 13, 2026, providing an extended opportunity to experience student interpretations of American life and history through art.
