A cold front is headed our way, and forecasters predict record-low temperatures over the next few days.
While Dale County will see a high of around 75° today, temperatures will begin to drop quickly this evening, with a low of between 36° and 38° early tomorrow morning.
Monday will be sunny, but it is expected to reach a high of only 45°. Monday night is going to get unseasonably cold as forecasters predict it will reach freezing by 10 p.m., and the temperature will continue to drop until it reaches around 25° overnight and into the early hours of Tuesday. It will warm up a little during the day, reaching a high of 56°
During hard freezes, it is important to remember the three Ps: PETS, PIPES, and PLANTS. Be sure to bring pets indoors or ensure they have adequate shelter. You will also want to take steps to make sure your pipes are properly insulated. When temperatures are below freezing, it is also recommended that you leave your faucet dripping slowly.
Wednesday will warm back up with an expected high of 71° and a low in the mid-40s.
