The Dale County Commission approved several agenda items during its regular meeting on Tuesday, May 26.
Among the items approved were personnel-related matters involving a promotion and a sick leave donation.
The we feeding the sick leave donation, “One employee has an illness that will require her to be out for a few months, and employees with Dale County have volunteered to donate some of their sick leave to help her during this difficult time,” County Commission Chairman Steve McKinnon said.
Commissioners also approved two agreements with C Spire that county officials said will double the county’s internet speeds while reducing costs by nearly half.
The commission additionally approved a change involving representation on the Dale County AgPlex board, renaming one seat from “At Large” to “Saddle Club.”
“The Board composition has not changed. This was an at-large seat and this change allows the Cattle Club to have a board member of the arena Association and provides them with full access to the arena.”
Another action taken during the meeting involved clarification of a polling place name for Beat 11. Commissioners approved updating the polling location name to Skipperville Methodist Church. The polling place had previously been listed as Skipperville United Methodist Church.
“This move was prompted only because of the name change of the church. With polling places, we have to make sure the name is listed accurately. The polling place location and address remain the same.”
All members of the County Commission were present and each of the items on the agenda were approved by unanimous vote.
The Dale County Commission meets regularly on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at 10 a.m. at the Dale County Government Building, located at 202 S. Highway 123 in Ozark.
