The Dale County Commission will hold a regular session on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, with a work session preceding the meeting at 10:00 a.m. The commission is expected to work on a full agenda that includes personnel matters, grant funding, capital expenditures, and several items of county business.
The meeting will begin with the call to order and welcome, followed by public comments from citizens and other elected officials. Commissioners will then conduct a roll call to establish a quorum before the invocation and Pledge of Allegiance.
As part of the meeting’s presentations, the commission will consider a resolution of congratulations recognizing the Dale County School System.
Under the consent agenda, commissioners are expected to vote on the approval of the meeting agenda, the minutes of the previous commission meeting, and the memorandum of warrants. The consent agenda is handled with a single motion and vote unless a commissioner requests that an item be removed for separate consideration.
Several items are listed under new business. These include a personnel matter involving the county administrator, a discussion related to the Vietnam Memorial, and a board appointment to the Organized Community Action Program.
Commissioners will also consider an Emergency Management Agency (EMA) grant, review a proposed capital expenditure, and hear a report on the Fiscal Year 2025 Rebuild Alabama Annual Report from the county engineer. In addition, the commission is scheduled to take action regarding a certificate of deposit account.
The agenda also provides time for staff reports, old business, any public hearings, and general commission discussion before adjournment.
The next regular meeting of the Dale County Commission is scheduled for Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Commission meetings are on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month, with a work session prior to the meeting at 10:00 am. If you wish to attend the meetings, you should arrive early to ensure the meeting does not begin before you arrive.
