The team used balanced scoring and strong rebounding to secure a 56–45 win over the Headland Rams on Thursday night.
Dale County placed nine different players in the scoring column, showcasing depth and unselfish play on both ends of the floor. Jayden McGhee led the Warriors with 15 points, while Junior Smith posted a double-double with 12 points and 15 rebounds to control the paint. Jaylen Griffin added eight points, and Gary Culver contributed heavily on the glass with 10 rebounds.
The Warriors gradually pulled away in the second half, using defensive pressure and rebounding to limit Headland’s second-chance opportunities while continuing to spread the scoring load.
Headland was paced by Jordan Kinsey, who finished with a game-high 21 points. Despite Kinsey’s strong offensive performance, the Rams struggled to match Dale County’s depth as the Warriors extended their lead late.
The win continues a strong stretch for Dale County, which has emphasized team balance and defensive intensity as the season progresses. The Warriors will take on county rivals the Daleville Warhawks on Friday, January 23, in Daleville, while they face the Ariton Purple Cats at home in Midland City on January 27.
