The Dale County High School (DCHS) Warriors swept Geneva County on Thursday night, with all three teams winning their games.
The DCHS boys’ varsity team earned a solid victory Tuesday night, defeating Geneva County 69–58 behind another standout performance from Jayden McGhee.
McGhee led all scorers with 31 points and was relentless on the defensive end, adding six steals to spark the Warriors throughout the game. His aggressive play helped Dale County maintain momentum, especially in the second half.
Jaylen Griffin delivered a strong performance in the paint, finishing with 11 points and a game-high 16 rebounds to give the Warriors a clear advantage on the boards. Junior Smith also reached double figures, contributing 11 points to round out the balanced scoring effort.
Caden Hutchings led Geneva County with 22 points, while James Wright added 12 in the loss. Despite solid scoring from Hutchings, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome Dale County’s defensive pressure and rebounding strength.
With the win, Dale County continues to build confidence as the Warriors move forward. The Warriors will now focus on the Tony Stallworth Invitational/Brantley Tournament. They take on Andalusia tomorrow afternoon, Friday, December 19, in Brantley. The game starts at 5:15 p.m. On Saturday, the Warriors face Brantley at 1:00 p.m. in the tournament.
Before the varsity boys’ game, the JV boys and varsity girls also took home the Ws.
The Dale County JV Boys defeated Geneva County 48–33
The Dale County Varsity Girls Won a Huge Victory Against Geneva, 57–31.
