The Dale County Warriors impressively opened the 2026 football season Friday night, defeating the G.W. Long Rebels, 41-14, to start the season 1-0.
Dale County took control early, building a 14-0 lead after the first quarter. The Warriors continued to add to their advantage in the second quarter, outscoring the Rebels 13-0 to take a 27-0 lead into halftime.
G.W. Long responded in the third quarter, scoring 14 points while Dale County added seven. The Rebels’ offensive push cut into the Warriors’ lead, but Dale County still entered the final quarter ahead, 34-14.
The Warriors shut the door in the fourth quarter, adding seven more points while holding G.W. Long scoreless to secure the 41-14 victory.
The win gives Dale County a 1-0 record to begin the season.
“What a way to start the season! Let’s keep it rolling,” the Warriors’ coaching staff said following the victory.
Dale County will look to build on the strong opening performance as the Warriors continue their 2026 campaign and face off against Wicksburg Friday, August 28.
