The Dale County Warriors were victorious in an instant classic Tuesday night, edging G.W. Long 83-80 in a dramatic double-overtime showdown highlighted by a pair of unforgettable shots from Jayden McGhee.
Regulation ended in controversy when McGhee buried a three-pointer at the horn that was ultimately waved off, sending the game into overtime tied. After the teams battled through the first extra period with no separation, McGhee delivered again when it mattered most — banking in a three-pointer as time expired in the second overtime to seal the thrilling victory for Dale County.
McGhee led all scorers with 30 points, carrying the Warriors through the late stages and overtime periods with clutch shooting and poise.
Dale County received strong support inside as Junior Smith posted a dominant double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds, while Jaylen Griffin added 10 points and a game-high 14 rebounds. Aidan Weed also reached double figures with 10 points, providing key scoring depth for the Warriors.
G.W. Long was led by Preston Williams, who finished with 24 points, followed by Jakiyan Redding with 17 and Marvin McLeod with 11 in a hard-fought effort by the Rebels.
The win was a victory for Dale County, showcasing resilience, balance, and good timing in one of the most memorable finishes of the season.
