DALEVILLE—The Daleville City Council handled a full agenda during its regular meeting on November 18, 2025, addressing board appointments, agreements, and several items requiring additional review before action is taken.
Council members began by approving the payment of bills before voting to appoint Brian Bowman to the Daleville Water Board.
After the ACE Program discussion and potential Cybersecurity Grant options were tabled. The council noted that it will revisit the ACE Program once the program coordinator provides further details and will delay action on the cybersecurity grants until the city’s IT team and the grant team complete their ongoing discussions.
The council approved a memorandum of understanding between the city and the Daleville City School System regarding free use of the Daleville Cultural and Convention Center. Officials said the agreement is mutually beneficial for both entities.
After an executive session, the council delayed action on a resolution related to Special Sellers Use Tax litigation, citing the need for more information.
Several appointments were made to the Daleville Police Volunteer Rescue Board. Jimmy Monk Sr. was named as the council’s representative, and Janis Bowman was appointed as the citizen representative.
The council also approved promoting two alternates on the Board of Adjustments to full voting members and announced two new vacancies for alternate positions.
Officials reported that the Daleville Assembly of God had withdrawn its request to use a section of the Culpepper Park parking lot free of charge, having secured a different event location.
Public comments were heard from Pat and Sheridan Smith, as well as from resident Twila Spagnolia.
The meeting adjourned after completion of the agenda.
The city announced that its next public work session will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. at Daleville City Hall. The next regular council meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at 5:30 p.m., also at City Hall.
