LUVERNE —The Daleville Warhawks closed out their regular season Friday night with a tough road matchup against the Luverne Tigers, falling 32-0 in a game dominated by the Tigers’ unbreakable defense and steel-strong offensive plays.
Luverne jumped ahead early, finding the end zone late in the first quarter to take an 8-0 lead. Despite several series of strong defensive plays by Daleville, the Tigers still managed to break through and extended their advantage to 16-0 by halftime.
The Warhawks continued to battle into the second half, never giving up, but Luverne’s depth and speed proved too difficult to overcome. By the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Tigers had expanded their impressive lead to 32-0, and the score held through the final whistle. With the Tigers’ win, Luverne maintained a perfect win-loss record (10-0).
While the loss closes out the regular season on a difficult note, Daleville showed moments of defensive skill, and the team remained committed and resilient throughout the entire game. The Warhawks may close out their season with a tough record (2-8), but they fought hard throughout the whole season.
