The Daleville Warhawks boys varsity basketball team suffered a 75-40 loss to the Wicksburg Panthers on Tuesday night, as Wicksburg’s run-and-gun offense proved too much to overcome.
The Panthers set the tone early, jumping out to a 17-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. Wicksburg continued to push the tempo in the second quarter, extending its advantage to 36-21 by halftime as Daleville struggled to slow the Panthers’ transition game.
After the break, Wicksburg maintained control, stretching the lead to 52-33 by the end of the third quarter. The Panthers continued to apply pressure in the final period, pulling away for the decisive 75-40 victory.
Despite the loss, Daleville junior, MJ Flowers, delivered a strong standout performance, leading the Warhawks with 26 points while adding seven rebounds and two steals. Joseph Ray chipped in six points and six rebounds, battling inside as Daleville worked to keep pace.
Wicksburg was led by Jamien Ward, who scored 17 points to anchor a balanced offensive effort. The Panthers’ ability to score quickly and consistently proved to be the difference throughout the contest.
Daleville will look to regroup as the Warhawks prepare for their next matchup, while Wicksburg continues to build momentum behind its high-energy offensive style. Daleville will host the Carroll High School Eagles on January 2, while Wicksburg prepares to face Northside Methodist Academy in a tournament on December 27.

DALEVILLE BOYS’ JV PUSHES WICKSBURG IN A TIGHT GAME THAT ENDED WITH THE JV WARHAWKS VICTORIOUS
In the JV matchup, Daleville emerged victorious, winning its third game in a row.
The Wicksburg JV Panthers and the Daleville JV Warhawks faced off Friday afternoon in a close game that was marked by two teams that seemed closely matched in skill and determination. The Panthers were in the lead for much of the game. By the end of the first quarter, the teams were tied up 11-11. In the second quarter, the Panthers managed to pull ahead slightly, leading 15-13 at halftime.
After the third quarter, Wicksburg was leading 21-20 with the JV Warhawks breathing down their necks, and in the final quarter, the JV Warhawks set the court on fire. Daleville pulled ahead and continued to push the Panthers, preventing them from retaking the lead up until the buzzer. The Daleville JV team won 31-25. With the win, the JV team continues its winning streak, having won its third game in a row. Previously, they defeated Brantley, 37-29, and they also won a hard-fought victory against Houston Academy last night, 51-48, after a heated game that went into overtime.
