The Daleville High School varsity girls endured a challenging two-day stretch on the court, falling in back-to-back games against Brantley and Headland.
On Monday, the varsity girls suffered a 67-42 loss to the Brantley Bulldogs despite a strong offensive showing from senior Lady Warhawk Kiani Schmitz. Schmitz led all Daleville scorers with 23 points, providing a consistent spark throughout the contest. Anastasia Rubin was a force in the paint, finishing with 10 rebounds and an impressive five blocked shots as she worked to slow Brantley’s interior attack.
The Lady Warhawks returned to action Tuesday but were unable to gain momentum in a 58-17 loss to the Headland Rams. Schmitz again paced the Warhawks, scoring 10 points, while Rubin anchored the boards with another 10-rebound performance. Aaniyah Collins contributed defensively, recording three steals and applying pressure in the backcourt.
Despite the setbacks, Daleville continues to see steady individual efforts from its core players as the Warhawks look to regroup and prepare for upcoming area competition.
