DALEVILLE—Daleville High School students, faculty, and staff came together in a show of support and appreciation for military-connected families during the school’s annual Purple Up Day celebration.
Organized by the school’s Student 2 Student program, the event recognized the sacrifices and contributions of students and families connected to the armed forces. Participants across campus wore purple in solidarity, creating what school officials described as “a powerful visual of unity and appreciation for our military community.”
Purple Up Day is part of a broader effort to highlight the experiences of military children, who often face unique challenges due to frequent relocations and deployments of family members. The event comes as the school was recently recognized by the Alabama Board of Education as a Purple Star school for 2026.
As part of the day’s activities, representatives from several branches of the military visited campus, including the United States Marine Corps, Air National Guard, United States Army, United States Navy, and the Army National Guard. Recruiters and service members provided students with information about military careers, educational opportunities, and service pathways.
“Our juniors and select seniors had the opportunity to engage with recruiters, ask questions, and explore potential pathways for their futures,” the school shared in a social media post.
The event also served as an opportunity for students to connect directly with military representatives and gain a deeper understanding of potential career options after graduation.
School leaders emphasized that the day was not only about career exploration, but also about recognition and gratitude.
“It was a meaningful day of connection, learning, and appreciation as we celebrated the strength and resilience of military students,” the post stated.
Daleville High School concluded the event by thanking those who contributed to its success and offering continued support to military families.
“To our military families, we honor and appreciate you today and every day,” the school shared on social media.
