Ashford Defeats Daleville; Warhawks Look to Rebound Against Luverne

DALEVILLE — The Daleville High School Warhawks hosted the Ashford Yellowjackets Friday night but couldn’t hold off a powerful visiting offense, falling 42–6 in front of their home crowd.
Ashford jumped ahead early, building a 23–0 lead by the middle of the second quarter and maintaining that margin through halftime. The Yellowjackets’ defense kept Daleville off the board until late in the game, while their offense continued to add points throughout the second half.
The Warhawks managed to avoid a shutout with a late touchdown, but the deficit proved too much to overcome as Ashford’s defense held strong, preventing the Warhawks from adding any more points to the board. With the 42–6 win, Ashford improves its win-loss record (7-2) while Daleville’s is updated to (2-8).
Though it has been a tough season for the Warhawks, the team never gave up and continued to push through.
Daleville will aim to bounce back next week when they face Luverne. That game has been moved from Thursday to Friday night.
