NEWTON— Deputies and local law enforcement responded to a possible domestic violence situation near Hartford Street in Newton following an emergency 911 call on Thursday.
According to dispatch information, a caller reported that his son may have harmed his wife and that the suspect was possibly armed. Initial reports also indicated that the male subject had barricaded himself inside the residence.
When law enforcement arrived on scene, the male individual exited the home without further incident. Authorities confirmed that the female involved in the incident reported she was not injured.
Officials stated that the situation is being investigated as a domestic dispute. The Newton Police Department and the Dale County Sheriff’s Office are continuing to gather information.
