DOTHAN, Ala. — A Dothan man has been arrested on multiple felony charges after an investigation into allegations that he sexually abused a child under the age of 12.
According to the Dothan Police Department, Desmi Archimedes-Martinez Flowers, 29, of Dothan, was arrested following an investigation that began June 20, 2026, after officers were notified of a potential crime involving a child younger than 12.
Police said the child reported to a parent that Flowers had inappropriate sexual contact with her approximately one year earlier. Detectives immediately began investigating the allegations.
Investigators worked with the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center, where the child participated in a forensic interview. According to police, the victim disclosed that Flowers had sexual contact with the child on multiple occasions between October 2024 and January 2025.
“Through the help of the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center, the victim disclosed that, between October 2024 and January 2025, Flowers had sexual contact with the child on several occasions,” the Dothan Police Department said in a news release. “The abuse stopped in January 2025 when Flowers was asked to leave because of inappropriate conduct with the child.”
Flowers has been charged with two counts of Sexual Abuse of a Child Less Than 12 Years Old, two counts of Sexual Torture, and three counts of First Degree Sodomy.
He was booked into the Houston County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
The Dothan Police Department said the investigation remains ongoing and that additional charges are possible.
