The Carroll High School Eagles earned their first win of the season Friday night, going on the road to knock off the Greenville Tigers 29–12.
Carroll came out firing on both sides of the ball. Quarterback Holden Pawlik got the offense rolling with a 16-yard touchdown pass to Dez Parker with 4:46 left in the first quarter. Cam Buchanan nailed the extra point to give the Eagles an early 7–0 lead.
Just minutes later, Kaden Cole powered into the end zone on a 16-yard touchdown run with 1:29 left in the first. Buchanan’s PAT made it 14–0 Carroll.
Greenville answered in the second quarter with a touchdown at the 8:42 mark, but Zekayden Vincent came up big for the Eagles, blocking the extra point to keep the score 14–6.
Carroll struck again when Pawlik connected with Devon Pruitt for a 68-yard touchdown bomb. Jeremiah Hairston added the two-point conversion, stretching the lead to 22–6.
The Tigers found the end zone again late in the half on a 15-yard touchdown pass, but the PAT was no good. Carroll led 22–12 at halftime.
The Eagles wasted no time putting the game out of reach early in the third quarter. Pawlik launched another deep strike, this time an 82-yard touchdown to Jeremiah Hairston, and Buchanan’s extra point made it 29–12.
From there, Carroll’s defense took over, shutting down Greenville for the entire second half and sealing the victory.
With the win, Carroll improves to 1–7 on the season and looks to carry that momentum into next week’s matchup at Andalusia.
