ENTERPRISE—Authorities have released the identity of a man killed in a shooting Friday evening in Enterprise as the investigation into the incident continues.
According to the Enterprise Police Department, Darius Ballard was the victim who was found lying in the street and suffering a gunshot wound that ultimately claimed his life.
Officers were dispatched at approximately 7:38 p.m. on April 17 to a report of gunfire in the 2700 block of Highway 27 North. When officers arrived, they located a male victim in the street suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said Treilon Parkmon, the person police identified as a suspect in the case, was quickly identified and taken into custody without incident shortly after officers arrived.
The name of the victim was released after the next of kin had been notified. Officials have not yet disclosed additional details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including what may have led up to the incident.
Investigators have indicated the case remains active, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
