OZARK—The Friends of the Ozark Dale County Library are inviting the community to take part in their Books for Bites campaign. This initiative encourages residents to help local families in need while discovering their next great read.
The event, running now through November 26, 2025, offers participants the opportunity to exchange canned goods for books from the Friends of the Library (FOL) Book Sale Room. Each unexpired, non-perishable canned good donated can be traded for one softcover book, while two canned goods will earn a hardcover book.
“Give a can, take a book” is the campaign’s simple but meaningful motto, reflecting the group’s mission to support both literacy and local hunger relief efforts. Organizers say the drive is a way for residents to come together to nourish both minds and bodies during the holiday season.
Community members are encouraged to bring donations to the Ozark Dale County Library, located at 296 N. Union Avenue in Ozark.
