The Ariton Lady Cats fell to the Geneva High School Panthers on Friday, dropping a 47–30 decision in a hard-fought area matchup.
Ariton stayed competitive through much of the contest but struggled to keep pace as the Panthers pulled away down the stretch. Despite the loss, the Lady Cats saw solid individual performances, led by Lizzy Woodfaulk, who finished with a team-high 15 points.
Ayari McCloud added seven points for Ariton, while KJ Woodfaulk contributed six. Macileigh Bragg and Nevaeh Williams rounded out the scoring with one point apiece.
The Lady Cats showed defensive effort throughout the game but were unable to generate enough offense to close the gap late against the Bulldogs. Ariton now moves to a win-loss record of (5-8) and will look to regroup as they prepare for their next matchup, which will be on Tuesday in an away game against Barbour County.
