The Carroll High Eagles closed out their 2025 football season on the road Friday night, falling to the Headland Rams 41–8.
Carroll struck first midway through the opening quarter when Jeremiah Hairston powered his way into the end zone on a 4-yard touchdown run. Hairston then tacked on the two-point conversion to give the Eagles an early 8–0 lead with 7:07 remaining in the first quarter.
Headland answered late in the quarter with a 2-yard touchdown run and a successful PAT to even the score at 8–7. The Rams took the lead just before halftime on another short touchdown run, making it 14–8 at the break.
Carroll appeared to have a final chance to score before halftime, driving deep into Headland territory in the closing seconds. However, after a conference among the officials, the clock was ruled to have expired as the Eagles reached the 5-yard line, ending the half without a score.
Headland opened the second half with a long, methodical drive capped by a 5-yard touchdown run. The missed PAT kept the score at 20–8. From there, the Rams took control, adding four more touchdowns in the second half to pull away for the 41–8 win.
Hairston’s early touchdown and gritty first-half defense highlighted the night for Carroll, but the Eagles struggled to slow down Headland’s rushing attack after halftime.
The loss closed out Carroll’s season with a 1–9 record.
