WIREGRASS— High school students across the Wiregrass Area will soon have a great opportunity to develop leadership skills, prepare for life after graduation, and build meaningful connections through Her Haven’s new Youth Impact Program.
The program is designed to help students successfully transition into adulthood by providing mentorship, educational workshops, volunteer opportunities, career preparation, and community involvement.
Her Haven CEO Cierra McLendon Berry says the initiative aims to equip young people with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in college, the workforce, and their communities.
Participants will attend monthly sessions covering a variety of topics important for personal and professional growth. Planned workshops will focus on leadership development, financial literacy, college and career readiness, communication skills, self-confidence, goal setting, and making positive life decisions.
In addition to classroom-style learning, students will have opportunities to complete community service projects, connect with local professionals, and strengthen their resumes and college applications through hands-on experiences and networking.
Students who actively participate and meet the program’s requirements may also become eligible for scholarship opportunities, providing an additional incentive for those committed to the program.
According to Her Haven, the Youth Impact Program is centered on its mission to encourage, equip, and empower the next generation of leaders by helping students develop confidence, responsibility, and a heart for serving their communities.
Parents and students interested in learning more about the program are invited to attend a parent information meeting on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at Elegant Decor.
The Youth Impact Program is open to girls in grades 9-12. Families attending the parent meeting will have an opportunity to learn more about program expectations, monthly activities, scholarship eligibility, and the enrollment process.
