The Kiwanis Club of Ozark recently welcomed a local nonprofit leader to share how his organization is making a difference in the lives of teenagers across the community.
During a recent meeting, members heard from Lee Windham, who spoke about the work of Reality Check, Inc. and its outreach to local youth.
“The Kiwanis Club of Ozark was honored to hear from Lee Windham as he shared about the wonderful things happening at Reality Check, Inc. and the impact they are making in the lives of local teens by taking the time and meeting them right where they are in life at this moment,” the organization said in a statement.
According to the presentation, Reality Check is currently supporting approximately 154 teenagers in the area, offering encouragement, mentorship, and access to necessities that help young people succeed.
“Reality Check is currently helping sponsor around 154 teenagers, providing encouragement, support, and necessities many young people need to thrive,” the statement read.
As the number of participating teens continues to grow, so does the need for community support. With students regularly visiting the program after school and summer break approaching, organizers say donations are critical to maintaining services.
“With that many teens coming in after school and with Summer fast approaching, there is an ongoing need for donations such as food and snack items, clothing, personal hygiene products, and other essentials,” the Kiwanis Club shared.
Club members also emphasized the importance of organizations like Reality Check in shaping the future of the community’s youth.
“We are thankful for organizations like Reality Check that are making a real difference in the youth in our community,” the statement continued.
Community members interested in supporting the effort are encouraged to contribute however they can, whether through volunteering or donations.
“If you would like to help support their mission, please know that every hour spent and every funding given matters, and your act of kindness counts,” the organization added.
