The Ariton Lady Cats earned a hard-fought 45–42 victory over the Straughn Tigers on Monday night, pulling away late to secure the close contest.
Ariton was led by a dominant performance from A.C. Free, who poured in 29 points while controlling the paint with 18 rebounds and adding two steals. Free’s all-around effort proved to be the difference in a game that remained competitive throughout.
Macileigh Bragg provided key support with eight points, six rebounds, and a steal, while KJ Woodfaulk contributed five points and three steals, helping spark the Lady Cats defensively. Natalie Beltran added two points and four rebounds, and Lizzy Woodfaulk chipped in one point. Madolyn Hudson also made her presence felt on the boards, pulling down eight rebounds.
The win showcased Ariton’s balanced effort and resilience in a tight matchup, as the Lady Cats executed down the stretch to hold off Straughn and come away with the three-point victory.
