Carroll’s soccer teams picked up a pair of impressive victories in recent action, as the Lady Eagles edged Providence Christian while the boys delivered a dominant win over Headland.
The Lady Eagles earned a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Providence Christian in a defensive battle in Dothan.
Kairos Moreno scored the match’s lone goal midway through the second half, breaking free on a breakaway and finishing the opportunity to give Carroll the decisive lead.
The Carroll defense made the advantage stand up the rest of the way. Goalkeeper Molly Weeks turned in a standout performance in the net, recording 16 saves to secure the shutout.
Weeks was backed by a strong defensive effort from Leilani Faulk, Alyssa Bonilla, Ryken Jones, Mia Ramos, Amaya Hernandez, and Kaylee Johnson, who helped keep Providence Christian off the scoreboard throughout the match.
With the win, the Lady Eagles improved to 6–3 on the season.
The Carroll boys also had a strong showing, overpowering Headland 10–0 on the road.
Jacapo Merigo led the offensive explosion for the Eagles with five goals. Kyren Bonner added two goals, while Cameron Buchanan, Jackson Purifoy, and Dylan Alvarez-Aponte each found the net once to rack up points for the team.
Anthony Diaz anchored the defense in goal, recording the shutout.
With the victory, the boys improved to 5–0–4 overall and 1–0 in area play.
