OZARK — The Carroll High Lady Eagles delivered a powerful and gritty performance Wednesday night, edging Pike Road 60-57 in overtime in a hard-fought matchup that showcased resilience, poise, and determination.
The game remained tight throughout regulation, with neither team able to create lasting separation. After four quarters of back-and-forth action ended in a deadlock, Carroll found another gear in overtime, making the key plays needed to secure the three-point victory and soar past Pike Road.
The night carried special significance for standout Eagle, Frankasia Glover, who reached a major career milestone during the contest by recording her 500th career rebound. A versatile athlete who plays both power forward and center positions, Glover’s achievement highlights her consistent presence in the paint and her role as a cornerstone of the Lady Eagles’ success on both ends of the floor.
The overtime win also served as a statement victory for Carroll against a strong Pike Road squad, reversing the outcome from the teams’ earlier meeting this season. With the postseason approaching, with the Lady Eagles representing as the 5A Area 4 Regular Season Champions, the Lady Eagles’ ability to execute under pressure and close out a tight game could prove crucial in the weeks ahead. The Eagles host Abbeville on January 30, and will then face Rehobeth on February 3 before Area Tournament play begins.
