MIDLAND CITY—Long before the stadium lights come on Friday nights, the foundation for Dale County football is built on hot summer days, one drill at a time.
Dozens of young athletes took to the field June 29 and 30 for the annual Dale County Little Warriors Football Camp at Dale County High School, where varsity coaches and players spent two days teaching the fundamentals of the game while encouraging the next generation of Warriors.
Throughout the camp, participants rotated through a variety of skill-building drills designed to improve footwork, ball handling, tackling technique, teamwork, and overall football fundamentals. Under the guidance of the high school coaching staff and varsity players, the young athletes received hands-on instruction while experiencing the work ethic and discipline that define the Warrior football program.
Following the camp, the Dale County Little Warriors organization thanked the Dale County High School team for continuing the annual tradition.
“Thank you, DCHS Warrior Football, for hosting the annual football camp for our Little Warriors!” the organization shared on social media.
The organization said campers learned valuable skills while building excitement for the upcoming season.
“These kids learned a ton of new skills and fundamentals! Now let’s get ready for Friday night lights and early Saturdays!” the post stated.
The Dale County High School football program also expressed its appreciation for the campers, coaches, and varsity players who helped make the event a success.
“Thank you to the Little Warriors for coming out to camp with us! Thank you to the varsity coaches and players for attending,” the program shared, adding, “The future is bright!”
More than just a summer camp, the annual event helps strengthen the connection between Dale County’s youth football program and the high school team. By investing in young athletes today, the Warriors continue building a tradition that emphasizes fundamentals, sportsmanship, teamwork, and community pride, qualities that may one day carry these Little Warriors onto the varsity field under the Friday night lights.
