DOTHAN — A 24-year-old Dothan man has been arrested on fentanyl trafficking charges following an investigation by the Dothan Police Department’s Narcotics Division.
According to authorities, narcotics investigators received information from multiple sources indicating that Thomas Tabriz Holston Jr. was allegedly selling fentanyl from residences located on Blue Bird Drive and Ozark Street in Dothan. Investigators said the information prompted a swift investigation that led to the issuance of search warrants connected to the case.
On June 22, 2026, narcotics investigators executed search warrants at both residences. During the searches, officers reportedly seized approximately 66 grams of powder fentanyl, about $14,000 in U.S. currency, and two handguns.
Holston was arrested and charged with Drug Trafficking–Fentanyl and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into the Houston County Jail, where he is currently being held without bond.
The Dothan Police Department expressed appreciation to the community members who provided information that aided investigators in the case.
“Our police department is more efficient when the community partners with us to reduce and eradicate crime,” the department stated in a release announcing the arrest.
Authorities noted that the investigation remains ongoing and that additional charges may be forthcoming.
Fentanyl, a synthetic opioid that is significantly more potent than morphine, has been a major contributor to overdose deaths nationwide. Law enforcement agencies throughout Alabama and across the country continue efforts to combat the distribution of the drug in local communities.
