Midland City police are investigating a late-night shooting that left an 18-year-old injured and are actively searching for a suspect considered armed and dangerous.
According to a press release from the Midland City Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 10:25 p.m. on April 5 after Dale County Central Dispatch received a report of a firearm assault on Parker Drive.
When officers arrived, they located an 18-year-old male outside a residence suffering from gunshot wounds to his lower extremities. The victim was treated at the scene for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening before being transported to a local hospital for further medical care.
Police identified a person of interest as Andrevius Terrod Smith, 42, of Midland City.
In the release, officials warned, “Mr. Smith is to be considered armed and dangerous.”
Authorities are asking anyone with information about Smith’s whereabouts to contact the Midland City Police Department at 334-983-3591 or reach out to their nearest law enforcement agency.
The investigation remains ongoing.
