The Ariton Lady Cats fell to New Brockton on Monday night, dropping a 71–54 decision in varsity girls basketball action.
Ariton battled throughout the contest and spread the scoring across the lineup, but the New Brockton Lady Gamecocks’ offensive surge proved difficult to overcome. Macileigh paced the Lady Cats with a team-high 17 points, providing steady production on the offensive end.
KJ Woodfaulk followed with 12 points, while Ayari McCloud added eight. Lizzy Woodfaulk chipped in seven points, Madolyn Hudson finished with six, and Ely Knight rounded out the scoring with four.
Despite the loss, the Lady Cats showed resilience and depth, with multiple players contributing on the scoreboard. The Lady Cats take on Emmanuel Christian on Tuesday, February 3, and then the girls travel to Abbeville on Thursday, February 5, and will face G.W. Long in Area Tournament play.
