The Town of Newton is gearing up for its annual Christmas Parade and Tree-Lighting Ceremony after postponing it due to inclement weather. Now, the festivities will take place this Saturday, December 13, 2025.
Town officials confirmed that the parade lineup will begin at 3 p.m. on Hartford Street near its intersection with College Street, next to the Newton Post Office. The parade is scheduled to roll out promptly at 4 p.m. The community’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will immediately follow the parade, at approximately 5 p.m., in Heroes’ Memorial Park.
Vendors that have registered with the Town of Newton will be permitted to enter and begin setting up at Heroes’ Memorial Park starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday.
In addition to the parade changes, the town’s “Spirit of the Season” decorating contest has also been postponed. Homes and businesses will now be judged on December 10, and contest winners will be announced following the parade on Saturday.
