The Ozark City Council addressed festival planning and civic center operations during its meeting held Tuesday night.
Council members approved acceptance of a grant awarded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts. The funding will help offset organizational costs for the upcoming Ozark Crawdad and Music Festival, which is scheduled for April 4, 2026. City officials said the grant will support efforts to enhance the annual event, which draws visitors from across the region for food, live music, and community activities.
In other business, the council awarded the alcohol license bid for the Ozark Civic Center to Rodeo’s Mexican Restaurant. As part of the process, the restaurant must now apply for the appropriate alcohol license through the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) Board. Once that process is completed, the license will return to the city council for final approval.
City officials noted that no alcohol sales can begin until all state requirements are met and the council grants its formal authorization.
