OZARK— Summer in Ozark is just around the corner, and that means residents will want to cool off and have fun while doing so.
Fortunately, the community has two excellent options right in town. KidZone at Steagall Park’s Splash Pad, located at 369 Faust Ave., is already open for use. It is the perfect activity to cool off after working up a sweat playing at the KidZone playground!
The Ozark Community Pool is also preparing to welcome residents back for the 2026 swim season. Opening day for the regular season is scheduled for Saturday, May 23.
The popular community spot will operate through Sunday, September 27, offering a full summer of swimming, fitness programs, and family-friendly recreation.
Pool officials also announced that early-season access will begin even sooner, with weekend-only hours running from May 9 through May 31 before transitioning into a full weekly schedule. Beginning the week of August 3, the pool will resume weekend-only operations as the summer season draws to a close.
Regular hours will run Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., with Sunday hours set from noon to 5 p.m. The pool will be closed on Mondays, as well as on Memorial Day, Juneteenth, and Labor Day.
Admission will remain affordable, with individual entry priced at $5. Lap swim will also be available for $5.
In addition to open swim, the facility will again offer Aquacise sessions throughout the summer. The first session runs from May 5 to May 29, with classes held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Additional sessions are scheduled in June, July, and August, providing ongoing opportunities for residents to stay active in the water.
Officials also reminded families that children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult while at the pool.
Officials with the Ozark Parks and Recreation Department want residents to know that pool operations remain subject to staffing availability, weather conditions, and other factors that may affect operations.
With school letting out just around the corner and temperatures rising, the Ozark Community Pool, which is the primary community pool in Dale County, is expected to once again serve as a central gathering place for families looking to cool off and enjoy the summer months.
