Ozark–Residents may notice firefighters working around fire hydrants throughout the City of Ozark over the coming weeks as Ozark Fire & Rescue conducts routine maintenance to help ensure hydrants remain accessible during emergencies.
According to the department, crews will be performing tasks including weed eating, spraying vegetation, and clearing brush from around fire hydrants located throughout the city. The maintenance is designed to keep hydrants visible and easily accessible for firefighters when responding to fires and other emergencies where every second counts.
Fire officials are also asking motorists to use extra caution when traveling near maintenance crews. Drivers are encouraged to slow down, remain alert, and move over when it is safe to do so when firefighters are working along roadways.
The department emphasized that taking a few extra seconds to drive carefully can help protect emergency personnel as they work to improve public safety.
Ozark Fire & Rescue thanked the community for its patience and cooperation during the maintenance effort, reminding residents that keeping firefighters safe helps them continue protecting the community when emergencies arise.
