SLOCOMB —It’s that time of year again. One of the Wiregrass region’s most anticipated summer traditions is set to return as the 36th Annual Slocomb Tomato Festival takes place Saturday, June 20, 2026, in downtown Slocomb.
The annual festival will bring together residents and visitors from across the area for a full day of family-friendly activities, live entertainment, food vendors, shopping, and community celebrations.
City officials expect large crowds for the annual event, which is free to the public and will feature over 75 vendors, children’s attractions, and entertainment throughout the day.
The festivities will begin with the annual Tomato Festival Parade at 9 a.m. through downtown Slocomb. Following the parade, the City of Slocomb will participate in the nationwide celebration of America’s Semiquincentennial with the unveiling of the community’s 250th Celebration Mural.
The mural unveiling is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. on Commerce Street immediately following the parade. The mural is a community art project created to commemorate the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary and will serve as a lasting tribute to local pride and patriotism.
Official opening ceremonies for the Tomato Festival will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will include remarks from Slocomb Mayor Rob Hinson.
Throughout the day, festival attendees will be treated to a lineup of live entertainment featuring several regional performers, including Kiera Howell, Shannon Tolbert, Nick Yarborough, Nalarence Davis, Brit Drive Band, and Shane Owens.
In addition to the entertainment, visitors can enjoy a variety of food vendors, local businesses, arts and crafts displays, and activities designed for all ages.
The festival will conclude with a fireworks show presented by Merritt’s beginning at approximately 8:30 p.m.
For 36 years, the Slocomb Tomato Festival has celebrated the city’s agricultural heritage while bringing together families, friends, and visitors for a day of community fellowship and entertainment. Organizers encourage attendees to arrive early and plan to spend the day enjoying all the festival has to offer.
The 36th Annual Slocomb Tomato Festival will be held Saturday, June 20, 2026, in downtown Slocomb, located at 325 E. Cox Street. Admission is free.
